looking for recipes for wet cat/dog food I can make at home. anyone know of a website..not just biscuits-meat
looking for variety of meaty recipes to make in large batches to freeze. . Lost one cat amd believe it might have been due to tainted food, however, HE was the only one that ate canned/pouches not combined with dry food. My other pets still seem to be normal. Onset was SO sudden, I was unable to get him into town and then he was gone. Would appreciate recipes using ckn; beef; liver or just about any type meat or poultry . Thanks
Sharon – there is lots of information available to you on the internet. Your problem will be that one recipe is not appropriate for cats and dogs. Each species has its own nutrition needs which must be met when you make their food.
Dogs are easy because their meat can be cooked – cats must have it raw. Just put in BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) on an internet search and you will get a lot of hits to investigate. Be prepared to encounter some very opinionated and didactic people on the groups. Just be ready to take your time in your investigation.
For cat diets you might consider joining some Yahoo groups dealing with feline raw diets: WholeCatHealth, rawKatz, RawPaws etc. There is also good information at www.catinfo.org, rawfed.com and rawfed.org.
If it seems a bit overwhelming then realise that even SOME raw food every week will greatly benefit your animals. It is not string theory and it does take some education on your part to get it right and do the best for your animals.
