Dog Food Recipes Sensitive Stomach
OK, good cat food brands for sensitive stomachs?
I have 3 cats. 2 females and a male, all fixed, all inside cats.
One of the females, Tiger, is about 5 years old. She’s a rather lazy cat. She doesn’t really run and play and bounce like the other 2 cats do, but she’s always been that way.
Anyways, she has a very sensitive stomach. Almost any food we give her, she throws up. We’ve gone to a vet about this, and he told us that it is just sensitivity and not something more serious. The IAMS brand chicken cat food is the only thing she didn’t throw up, but we obviously haven’t tried every kind of food.
I’m wondering. Does anybody in the Cat Section know of any good cat food brands that would have a recipe for sensitive stomachs? I’m not familiar with good or bad cat food brands, but if IAMS cat food is as bad as its dog food, there’s GOT to be something better.
The good brands of dog food apply to cat food, generally. Sensitive stomach issues can be resolved with cats, usually, not by brand but by paying attention to ingredients, knowing what they can be sensitive *to*, and avoiding those. With cats, the main thing to avoid is corn. It can cause many, many tummy issues. The next thing is chemical preservatives and dyes. And finally – by-products. You have no clue what those are, and they tend to be all junk items. Go to the pet store, and find a food free of all three of these – there will be many to choose from. If you’re feeding dry, then try switching to canned. The dry kibbles, if eaten to quickly, swell in the cat’s stomach – and back up they come. Feeding a better quality food than IAMS will benefit all of the cats.
