Dog Food Recipes Ingredients

Question about dog food ingredient?

3 cups of whole wheat flour
3 cups of rolled oats
2 tsp. of bone meal
2 cups of dry milk
3 cups of cooked brown or wild rice
4 raw eggs
1 cup of bacon grease or lard, melted
3 cups of water, broth, gravy, milk, meat juices or meat drippings
1 cup of cooked chopped carrots
1 cup of cooked chopped peas
2 to 4 cups of ground or shredded fat, fish or meat (optional)
Plastic bags
Plastic containers with lids

Okay, this is my dog food recipe that I want to make. The only thing is, what can I replace the lardbacon fat with that is healthier? What would this ingredient be?

I thought at first it was a dog biscuit recipe. I don’t understand the whole wheat flour as a dog food ingredient. Oats aren’t bad, but shouldn’t be the main part of the mixture along with rice. Brown and wild rice are often not digested by dogs and they will sometimes throw it up. Grease and lard, as part of a dog food, are bad for a dog, period. What is ground fat? Sounds very bad. This sounds like a recipe for pancreatitis and possilby other illnesses if this is what you would be feeding your dog. We feed a home cooked diet to our dogs, but the diet is well balanced and varied, no flour in it, no lard or grease. I would not suggest feeding your dog any homemade dog food without getting it approved by your Vet. I know a Vet would not approve this recipe. Not meaning to be critical, it just seems dangerous as a recipe for dog food- something your dog would consistently be eating.
