Bad Dog Food
If Avocados are bad for dogs, why is a high end dog food called Avoderm? Made with Avocados?
I just got a puppy and she seems to like the Avoderm food, and it isnt causing her stomach problems like Wellness did, but I’ve read that avocados are bad for dogs, thus I’m confused when a high-end dog-food is using them. I don’t want to switch her food unnecessarily, but obviously, I don’t want to give her something that’s bad for her. Can anyone give me information on this?
There are certain types of avocados and certain parts of the fruit that are toxic to dogs, and types and parts that are not. Since the average person doesn’t know the difference between the varieties, most material just says that avocados are toxic, period. The varieties of avocado used in Avoderm are safe for your dog.
Add: The ‘meat’ of some types of avocados is actually also toxic so do not feed avocado meat at home to your dog. Avoderm uses the flesh from carefully selected specific varieties of avocado, not just any avocado flesh.
